How many images will I receive?
For an hour portrait session, I will deliver 100+ images in your digital gallery via your personal Client Portal.
An average 8 hour wedding provides roughly 800 images, but usually you’ll receive more than that.
Do I have ownership over my images?
You will receive all of your images digitally in a low-resolution web size format. This is great for the purpose of sharing on social media & to keep your gallery small/easy to download.
*Additional purchases can include:
full size digital images
prints + canvas wraps
albums
What is included with the session?
Your price includes your session time + entire gallery in web size format.
That means you get all your images in a low-resolution format that is great for social media sharing. If you’re looking to print any images, you can purchase prints, canvas wraps, or albums through me. I use the most amazing, professional labs.
If you’d really like to print the images yourself, you’ll need to purchase the full size format digitals, which is an additional cost.
But please, for the love of all things good, do NOT order prints through CVS, Walmart, Shutterfly, etc.. These places are not professional labs. They will distort your photos affecting the authenticity and accuracy of your beautiful images. You’ll find your skin tones are off, the highlights are blown, the shadows are too dark, etc.
This is why I highly recommend purchasing through me as I have access to an excellent lab.
If you spent this much money on a session, please do not “blow” your beautiful images by printing through low-quality stores.
— In addition, please consider purchasing an album because your photos will get lost on your computer. Albums are a great way to have a physical keepsake to flip through and cherish over all your years.
What should I wear?
I highly suggest limiting the amount of prints, patterns, and bold colors involved as it could be distracting. Think clean — we want clean, non-busy images that keep the focus on you and your loved one(s).
Neutrals are always great! But by all means, don’t take away from your style. We still want this to be authentic to you.
How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking two or so weeks in advance.
If we are shooting outdoors, I always suggest photographing your session the hour and a half before sunset for that ideal GOLDEN HOUR lighting. :)
But if you’re asking for an in-home session, we can pick any time during the day.
What if I’m shy/uncomfortable/unphotogenic?
This is the fun part! I will guide you throughout the session, giving you and your loved one(s) prompts to create movement and moments so you don’t feel so awkward just standing still, hearing a “click! click!” in the background. I proooomise we will have fun together.
These are YOUR moments so they will be unique to you - don’t expect your images to come out like everyone else’s. [Ahem, pinterest!]
We are creating moments together for you to cherish that are accurate and meaningful to YOU. Pinterest can be a helpful resource if there is an image or two that you’re wanting to recreate, but I want your session to flow organically to represent you well.
How do we pick a location?
If there is a place that is special to you — let’s go there!
But if you’re struggling to think of a spot, I most certainly will send you a list with a few places that you can choose from.
Newborn shoots are done in your home wherever you’re most comfortable. Living room, bedroom, nursery.
What about the weather?
If there is inclement weather as the day draws nearer, we can reschedule if that is preferred. I will reach out to you before the session and we can discuss what our options are. Sometimes the weather changes! We can make a decision up until the morning of the session.
But don’t worry if it’s cloudy — that creates amazing lighting!!
Do you travel?
Yes! Absolutely!
Included in a Portrait Session is 25 miles; Wedding is 50 miles.
Anything further than that, I charge the National rate.
How long until I receive my images?
Portrait Sessions receive their gallery within 2-3 weeks.
Weddings received their gallery within 8 weeks.
